History

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Fırat University was established by the decision of the Council of Ministers dated February 15, 2009, and over the years, it has gained a significant position in education by incorporating various departments. Since its foundation, the faculty has offered education in disciplines such as business administration, political science and public administration, economics, social work, labor economics and industrial relations, and finance.

 

As part of this development process, with the increasing critical role of digital transformation and information technologies in the business world, the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) was established. The MIS Department began actively providing education to students in the 2023–2024 academic year.

 

The department aims to train competent individuals who meet the requirements of the era by integrating information technologies and management sciences. Its curriculum emphasizes subjects such as data analytics, decision support systems, software development, business intelligence, and digital transformation, preparing students for diverse career opportunities in both the private and public sectors.

 

The Department of Management Information Systems at Fırat University continues its mission of training individuals with analytical thinking skills who embrace an information-oriented management approach, supported by continuously developing and updated educational programs.
